CONTRIBUTION: I shadowed and supported the Technical Director for the Moonlight Magic event at Disney’s Animal Kingdom & EPCOT. In this capacity, I assisted with pre-event planning, on-site coordination, and live event execution, gaining hands-on experience in Technical Director responsibilities within a large-scale, operational park environment.
My involvement focused on observing and supporting show readiness, technical coordination, and real-time problem-solving across multiple locations in the park. I worked closely with the directors, designers, production and park operations teams to ensure technical elements, schedules, and guest experience needs were aligned throughout the event.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shadowed the Technical Director during event planning, setup, and live operations.
- Assisted with coordinating technical readiness across attractions, entertainment offerings, and event locations.
- Supported pre-event meetings and documented technical notes, timelines, and action items.
- Observed decision-making related to show operations, guest flow, and real-time adjustments during the event.
- Served as an on-site support resource during live event execution, escalating technical or operational concerns as needed.
- Collaborated with entertainment, operations, and stage management teams to maintain event continuity and guest experience standards.
